Discrimination in America Essay -- Race Racism Prejudice

Our world has always been faced with the b other(a) of divergence. It is one of the most discussed topics directadays and throughout history. In all countries on that point is most standardisedly at least one type of discrimination that affects different groups of population. The definition of discrimination is the denial of opportunity or come to rights for a specific group of people that may be secern by things such as their religion, color of skin, or gender. The world we sleep together in has been struggling with this sensitive subject for as long as we the allow record. Many people believe discrimination has made giant steps forward, but has it really? If it has, why do people let off get turned down, receive hate mail, or get ridiculed merely because they differ from each other. I guess these be questions we must subscribe to ourselves. I guess you could also ask yourself if you have ever called anybody a name, looked at them different or judged them wh en you did not even know them or understand them. You may be thinking That is not discrimination, but, in fact, it is. Personally, I never felt that I was discriminated against by anyone or discriminated against others until I came to the USA. hitherto though this country welcomes all immigrants, people still get interact as others. I remember the night when I arrived in the fall in States and saw so many black people in the airport. My friends and I were pointing at them and saying Look, they are black and they are not like us, they are others. While we were not trying to be rude, it is clear to me now that we were actually being discriminatory. However, I didnt realize at the time that sooner or later I would be considered as an other also. Even as a good-looking, smart, intelligent European w... ...ome from), the issue of racial discrimination is not as strong but there are some others, such as gender, class and religion discrimination. This is truly a global issue aff ecting all nations.I closing, I have realized from my arrival in America that diverse people bequeath often judge each other by appearance and manner of speaking rather than on substance. We must accept the fact that while people may get more tolerant, there will always be some sort of discrimination. Instead of giving up, it has just made me stronger as I have learned to adapt and not have a complex about my differences. I am sure there are many stories similar to mine that can be used as examples of discrimination. The United States has not solved this problem, but there are a lot of things that have been done in this country in direct to have equal rights so that fewer people are treated like others.
