Autumn Already!

Autumn Already! Time seems to fly here in Champaign-Urbana, especially from August to October. The fact of the matter is that it is week five of classes at the University of Illinois, and I can barely wrap my head around that. In the coming weeks, we will be celebrating Homecoming, taking midterms, and welcoming our families for Dads Weekend. Like I said, it is a crazy, jam-packed time of year! But it is also the best time of year, as the trees are changing colors, the temperature is cooling off, and the students are getting past their back-to-school colds. Plus, professors and students alike are back in the swing of things academically. As these next few weeks approach, it is important to stay on top of your studies. And while that is important to remember all school year, the fall semester is especially important, as it will guide your momentum for the spring, too. Remember that, as a student, you are here to learn, study, and grow as a professional and individual. Take time to focus on your interests, your classwork, and your overall well being. Overall, enjoy all of the opportunities this wonderful university has to offer in the fall, but remember to focus on your academics, too. Balance is everything! Rachel Class of 2020 I am studying Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Social Sciences and Literacy in the College of Education. Although I now reside in Champaign, I am originally from Vernon Hills, a Northwest suburb of Chicago.
